hey, it's jess
Welcome—and thank you so much for being here.

I'm Jess, a self-taught artist who unexpectedly found her creative spark during a long, quiet pandemic winter in Ohio. In the middle of such an emotional year, I turned to art as a way to find a little joy. What started as simple holiday calligraphy quickly grew into pet portraits as gifts for loved ones—and before I knew it, I was hooked.

Looking back, it's not too surprising. As a kid, I spent hours doodling Disney characters from VHS covers, and those early sketches definitely laid the groundwork for the work I create today.

Animals have always had my heart (fun fact: I once “borrowed” a neighbor’s dog when I was five... and they let me keep her!). So it only makes sense that they’ve become the heart of my art—whether it’s beloved pets, wild creatures, or the occasional architectural portrait when I’m drawn to a particular place.

When I’m not at my desk sketching, you’ll probably find me snuggling my two wheaten terriers, Rupert and Poppy, digging through a thrift store, watching a documentary, or cheering (loudly) for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Whether you’re here to browse, connect, or commission a piece, I’m so glad we’ve crossed paths. Thank you for supporting this journey.

With gratitude,
Jess
